The Planting Plan can be drawn up once the design is finalised. Choice of plants can create very different moods within a garden, and can totally change the feel of the design. In this small garden I have opted for a mainly blue and white colour scheme, as these cool colours will make the space feel larger, but have added some contrasting orange shades to lift the scheme. The trees have been chosen for more than one season of interest, important in a small space where plants must earn their keep. The Cornus kousa chinensis will have flowers in early summer followed by good autumn colour, whilst the Malus will have blossom in the spring and fruit in the autumn.
